Bodybuilders or those who are takings steroids should eat the following three types of food, on a daily basis, to bulk up fast.
1. Lean Protein
Protein is the building block of body tissue and also serves as the fuel source of the body (Source: lifeclinic). With high amino acid content that protects our immune system, protein has two main sources: plants and animals. Animal protein is recommended more for bodybuilders. The required daily amount of protein that a bodybuilder should take depends on his/her body weight. Usually, a bodybuilder needs 1-1.5 grams per pound of body weight, every day. (I.e. 200 pound weight = 200-300 grams protein).
Good sources of protein:
- Egg (egg white)
- Dairy products
- Soy products
- Dry beans
2. Complex Carbohydrates
There are two types of carbohydrates: complex and simple. Complex carbohydrates are dietary starches made up of multiple sugar molecules. On the other hand, simple carbohydrates are made of one or two sugar molecules and are digested rapidly. It is better to eat complex carbohydrates rather than simple carbohydrates because the former provides more nutrients. Rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals, complex carbohydrates are commonly found in whole plant foods (Source: NutritionMD).
Good sources of complex carbohydrates:
- Green vegetables
- Whole grains (oatmeal, brown rice, whole grain bread)
- Sweet potato
3. Good Cholesterol
According to Body Building, good cholesterol is necessary in a bodybuilder’s diet to synthesize steroid hormones in the body. Adequate amounts of cholesterol help our body digest fats. However, too much cholesterol is not recommended because it can lead to blood clotting or heart-related diseases.
Good sources of good cholesterol:
- Olive oil
- Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins C and E
Taking Sufficient Calories
If you are planning to buy steroids, you should also start counting your calorie intake. Our body needs enough calories to use and release energy. Our calorie intake depends on how much energy our body needs.
A healthy person with a normal metabolism needs between 2,000 and 3,000 kcal per day to sustain their energy levels. A healthy person, with a normal metabolism and who is taking steroids, needs approximately 5,000 kcal a day. Of course you should determine how much fat, protein and carbohydrates you need to keep your body healthy on a high calorie diet.
